Training Classes

We’ve been sending our golden retriever, Lola, to Heike for 4 years now. To say that Heike is a lifesaver is an understatement. Lola is the only dog that we’ve owned in over 40 years, that I truly considered returning to the breeder. She was hyperactive, and totally unruly! She was so destructive in the house, was jumping on everything and everyone and did NOT have a soft mouth.

Once we started taking Lola to Heike, and she was our FIFTH TRAINER, I actually finally saw an improvement in her!!! I take Lola to basic and advanced obedience, agility and any class Heike offers!

I’m not exaggerating when I say that because of Heike we were able to finally fallen in love with our “crazy girl”!!! Through her wealth of information on nutrition, immunization and training I was able to apply it to our girl and let us see her sweet and happy personality!!!

If you have the opportunity, go to Heike for most any of your dog’s needs!!! She DEFINITELY 5 stars!!!!❤️

From Jane De Franza
Chessieville Bay K9 Training is our first experience with dog training…it is a great place!
We brought, Lexi, our 1.5 year old Weimeraner there, for training classes and the beginning of agility classes, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Heike is firm, yet understanding, kind, approachable, knowledgeable, experienced with hands-on teaching.  The classes were fun, always with positive reinforcements
given to both dog and owners.  We learned to stay calm and focused, patient and firm
and to always give plenty of praise.
Heike explains the thinking behind what she is teaching you to do with your dog.  When you and your dog learn how to read each other it decreases that power struggle, your relationship grows, and your pup learns to look to you for direction and reassurance.
Lexi, Adam and I had a good time learning , enjoyed our surroundings
and always came home exhausted.
MOST OF ALL Lexi always felt comfortable with Heike which is why we now use Chessieville for boarding and daycare – it’s Lexi’s home away from home ❤︎.
We know she is in good hands, we never worry when she is there.
We would highly recommend Chessieville Bay K9 Training.
Heike is someone who truly loves what she does and she works to improve relationships between dogs and their owners.
From Melody D.

I can’t thank Heika enough for helping Gunther and I through our training journey. We had been training with another trainer since he was a puppy and I thought what we were learning was the “norm” when it comes to training a high energy big dog. The tactics of what we learned on how to handle a reactive dog ended up to be harmful to his development making him not trust people because he was choked out and mistreated by this trainer. He would cower in fear in every class and it ultimately made him fearful of any human being. It was not until I was introduced to Heika that she has gained his trust and is helping him on his way to realizing that the right people can be trusted. He now gets so excited to go to his class! Lesson learned it’s so important to find the right training methods and trainer, unfortunately we learned the hard way but it has built a better relationship between us and has lead us to a Heika!!!
